10 Days - Kenyan Golf Luxury Safari

ITINERARY

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN NAIROBI 

Pick up from the airport and transfer to Emare Ole Sereni Hotel.

DAY 2: KAREN GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

After breakfast take a 15 minutes’ drive to Karen Golf & Country Club to enjoy an 18 hole round of golf in this impeccably maintained Golf course . The Karen Country Club. The course is surrounded by grevillea robusta trees planted in lines along the fairways, with many water features and a beautiful dam. It is a beautiful course for both players and avid walkers of the club.
 It was founded in 1937 as 9 holes but is now an 18 whole golf course. Karen Golf club plays host to the prestigious Kenya Open and the Asian Tour.
 The rough of this course will average six to eight inches deep and the second cut averages three to four inches In 1968, Karen Country Club held its first open championship and a second one in 1969.  Karen Golf and Country Club is arguably the most beautiful golf club in Kenya .

DAY 3: MUTHAIGA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

 After breakfast drive to Muthaiga Golf Club for another 18 holes round of golf in this Par 72. Muthaiga Golf club is among the oldest golf clubs in Kenya with its foundation stone having been laid in 1913 by the then white settlers. It serves as  home to the Kenya Golf Union. This 18 hole golf club lies at the edge of Karura forest and so sports many indigenous trees. The course is characterized by a variety of trees and flowering bushes giving it a beautiful layout and making it a beautiful course to play. It’s a challenging course with very fine greens for both members and visiting golfers. Muthaiga Golf Club alternates with Karen Golf Club to host the Magical Kenya Open. 

DAY 4 : NAIROBI - MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

 After a hearty breakfast, you will be met then depart to the fabled Masai Mara, the drive takes approximately 5 – 6 hours.  On arrival, you will be  transferred  to your camp/lodge with an enroute game drive. [ You can opt to fly as well - takes 45 minutes ]
Check into the camp in time for lunch. There’ll be time to settle into the camp before your first afternoon game drive. Have an afternoon to sunset game drive then transfer back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5 & 6: MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve

0500  – Wake Up call!
0600 – Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara and return to the lodge/camp for breakfast. Rest of the morning at leisure.
1300 –  Enjoy your scrumptious lunch.
1600 – Afternoon to sunset game drive.
1900 – Dinner and Overnight at the lodge/camp

Depending on what you feel like, we have a range of activities to keep you occupied:

Optional Activity- Hot Air Balloon Safari
For a particularly memorable and unforgettable experience, enjoy a surreal journey in a hot air balloon safari, (please note that this is an extra cost), over the Masai Mara plains. This adventure begins just before dawn; depart the camp to the Balloon Safaris take off. The fabulous sunrise flight lasts approximately one hour depending on weather conditions. On landing, sit down to a delicious bush breakfast, freshly cooked on balloon burners in the middle of the Mara plains. Toast your return to Mother Earth together with your pilot over a glass of sparkling wine. Game drive back to your lodge.

Optional Activity – Bush Breakfast
Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the bush after your early morning game drive.  Spend mid-morning at leisure exploring the camp’s facilities.

Optional Activity – Cultural Village Visit (Take a glimpse into traditional Maasai life)
Find yourself in the midst of the daily hustle and bustle of local life as you witness the daily rituals of the Maasai. Once you have drunk your fill of this authentic cultural experience, you can choose to browse through the Maasai Craft Centre and purchase artefacts made by the people you encountered. All proceeds from this go directly to the community.

DAY 7: MAASAI MARA - LAKE NAIVASHA

After a hearty breakfast, you will depart Maasai Mara and drive to Lake Naivasha, a fresh water lake in the Great Rift Valley. On arrival, you will be  transferred  to the resort.
 1200 – Check in and have lunch.  Thereafter  you’ll visit Crescent Island for a walking safari. Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is located on Lake Naivasha, Kenya in the Great Rift Valley. It is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is Naivasha’s best-kept secret. Surrounded by water, it is actually a peninsula and is accessible by boat from East or West as well as by road. From the top of the hill, there is a 360-degree view across the Lake from Longonot to Hell’s Gate to the Mau Escarpment to Eburu and onto the Aberdares. Walking along the ridge in the golden hour before sunset whilst watching the animals grazing with the water shimmering beyond is what Africa is all about.

DAY 8: LAKE NAIVASHA

Full day at Lake Naivasha

After breakfast spend the rest of the day at another 18 holes round of golf.

All meals and overnight at Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort.

DAY 9: LAKE NAIVASHA - LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will head to the nearby Lake Nakuru which is about an hour drive and get to explore its wildlife as well. Lake Nakuru National Park offers visitors the chance to spot exotic birdlife but also rare species like rhinos and endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. Also keep a safari eye out for lion, leopard, and cheetah. This unique reserve has it all.

Besides the lake, Nakuru is a picture-perfect blend of acacia forests, waterfalls, woodlands, and distinctive euphorbia trees all nestled under towering rocky escarpments. Here you’ll find a surprising variety of wildlife in these picturesque settings – look for hyena, monkey, baboon, wild dog, hippo, and even python hanging from the trees!

DAY 10: LAKE NAKURU - NAIROBI

Enjoy a scrumptious last breakfast before being transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your international flight home.
